UFSCar


The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) is a Brazilian federal university established in 1968 with 4 campuses located in the interior of São Paulo, in the cities of São Carlos, Araras, Sorocaba, and Lagoa do Sino. It is recognized as one of the best universities in Brazil, with a motto of providing public, free, and quality education.

The research group in gas atomization and additive manufacturing at the Department of Materials Engineering (DEMa) of UFSCar began its research in this area in 2011, with extensive experience in metallic powder processing, laser processing, additive manufacturing by Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), and materials characterization.
